STRATEGY · 3 PHASES

How this build plays

Sequence two spells to collect Bumbleflower’s draw reward, then put the counters and extra cards to work. This modified list can pressure through combat, draw-trigger life loss or a carefully telegraphed Ascendancy upkeep.

  1. 01SET THE STAGE

    Make the second spell count

Nature’s Lore develops a Forest and triggers Bumbleflower. A later spell such as Growth Spiral can reach her second resolution of the turn, drawing you two cards while her triggers distribute counters and temporary flying. Each trigger still gives a targeted opponent a card.

Vigilance Whenever you cast a spell, target opponent draws a card. Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. It gains flying until end of turn. If this is the second time this ability has resolved this turn, you draw two cards.

    Nature's Lore

Search your library for a Forest card, put that card onto the battlefield, then shuffle.

    Growth Spiral

Draw a card. You may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.

  2. 02BUILD THE ENGINE

    Let the counters keep growing

Bumbleflower’s counters give Kalonian Hydra more to double when it attacks. Simic Ascendancy gains growth counters when counters are placed on your creatures, including those from the Hydra’s doubling. Its win condition checks for twenty growth counters at the beginning of your upkeep; reaching twenty does not win immediately.

    Kalonian Hydra

Trample This creature enters with four +1/+1 counters on it. Whenever this creature attacks, double the number of +1/+1 counters on each creature you control.

    Simic Ascendancy

{1}{G}{U}: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control. Whenever one or more +1/+1 counters are put on a creature you control, put that many growth counters on this enchantment. At the beginning of your upkeep, if this enchantment has twenty or more growth counters on it, you win the game.

  3. 03CARRY IT THROUGH

A full hand can hurt the table

Teferi’s Ageless Insight doubles your draws except the first draw in each of your draw steps, so it expands Bumbleflower’s two-card reward. Psychosis Crawler makes each of those individual draws cost every opponent a life. The draw replacement does not double the cards given to opponents.

    Teferi's Ageless Insight

If you would draw a card except the first one you draw in each of your draw steps, draw two cards instead.

    Psychosis Crawler

Psychosis Crawler's power and toughness are each equal to the number of cards in your hand. Whenever you draw a card, each opponent loses 1 life.

Commander Bracket Assessment

Rules-Based Bracket: 3 minimumEstimated Power Bracket: Mid 3–High 3

Based on the 100-card main deck; sideboard excluded. The Rules-Based Bracket is the lowest bracket this card list allows under Commander bracket rules. The Estimated Power Bracket is a personal estimate of how strongly the deck plays. It is not an official rating.

Evidence and limitations

Rules-Based Bracket · minimum

  • 1 Game Changer: excluded from ordinary Brackets 1 and 2.

Exact Game Changers: 1× Teferi's Protection.

Mass land denial registry: None identified in the checked registry. Modal or repeated-land targeting still requires a pregame discussion.

Your extra-turn cards: None identified in the checked registry. Opponent turns from Emrakul or gifts are not counted as your own chain.

Confirmed early two-card lethal or turn-chain flags are not inferred from keywords. This is a lower bound, not a complete combo solver or permission to delay a consistently early line until turn seven. Agreed Rule Zero / Exhibition exceptions are outside this ordinary-restriction check.

Estimated Power Bracket · Mid 3–High 3

Estimated from the card list alone, not from tracked win rates or game results.

Two-spell turns supply cards and counters. Hydra/Ascendancy and Crawler offer different payoffs, but the list gives opponents cards as well and uses several defensive or narrow cards.

Assembly and timing: The Ascendancy needs twenty growth counters at an upkeep; Hydra must attack. Those visible requirements make a reliable early sudden win less established than raw payoff density suggests.

Recovery and constraints: Protection and recurring draw help preserve a board, while removal of a counter payoff can delay conversion into a finish.

Curve: 2.83 average nonland mana value. Cheap mana/land-search text: An Offer You Can't Refuse · Fellwar Stone · Thought Vessel · Arcane Signet · Nature's Lore · Sol Ring. This text-derived reading aid is not an official score.

Search-library evidence: Terramorphic Expanse · Evolving Wilds · Wood Elves · Cultivate · Land Tax · Nature's Lore · Tempt with Discovery. This includes restricted and land searches; efficient tutor overlap is reviewed separately above. There is no official tutor-count cap.

Fast mana indicators: Sol Ring. Conditional free interaction: None identified in the checked registry. Conditions and resource costs still apply.

Key cards: Ms. Bumbleflower · Simic Ascendancy · Kalonian Hydra · Psychosis Crawler.
