How this build plays

Optimized keeps the Knight draw-and-evasion core while replacing several small Knights with scalable bodies and token production. The new bodies can use the existing board rather than just adding another anthem recipient.

  1. 01SET THE STAGE

Invite the Knights into the library

Choose Knight for Kindred Discovery. A Knight entering or attacking draws a card, and your second draw on your own turn triggers the Council for another card. The Council checks the second draw only once on each player’s turn; its extra draw does not restart that threshold.

    The Council of Four

Whenever a player draws their second card during their turn, you draw a card. Whenever a player casts their second spell during their turn, you create a 2/2 white Knight creature token.

    Kindred Discovery

As this enchantment enters, choose a creature type. Whenever a creature you control of the chosen type enters or attacks, draw a card.

  2. 02BUILD THE ENGINE

Let the board help recruit the next threat

Knight-Errant of Eos has convoke, letting creatures help pay for it. The number that convoked it sets the mana-value ceiling for the creatures its entry can find. Council-made Knight tokens can contribute, but convoking those tokens may leave them unavailable as blockers that turn.

    Knight-Errant of Eos

Convoke When this creature enters, look at the top six cards of your library. You may reveal up to two creature cards with mana value X or less from among them, where X is the number of creatures that convoked this creature. Put the revealed cards into your hand, then shuffle.

  3. 03CARRY IT THROUGH

The squadron grows behind an evasive attack

Silverwing Squadron’s power follows your creature count and its attacks create Knight tokens for each opponent. Herald of Hoofbeats gives the Squadron and the other Knights horsemanship. The new tokens are not attacking automatically and need a later opportunity to join combat.

    Silverwing Squadron

Flying, vigilance Silverwing Squadron's power and toughness are each equal to the number of creatures you control. Whenever this creature attacks, create a number of 2/2 white Knight creature tokens with vigilance equal to the number of opponents you have.

    Herald of Hoofbeats

Horsemanship (This creature can't be blocked except by creatures with horsemanship.) Other Knights you control have horsemanship.

Commander Bracket Assessment

Rules-Based Bracket: No raised minimumEstimated Power Bracket: Mid 3

Based on the 100-card main deck; sideboard excluded. The Rules-Based Bracket is the lowest bracket this card list allows under Commander bracket rules. The Estimated Power Bracket is a personal estimate of how strongly the deck plays. It is not an official rating.

Evidence and limitations

Rules-Based Bracket · minimum

  • No raised minimum found in the checked restrictions. This does not establish Exhibition intent, Core fit or absence of every possible combo.

Exact Game Changers: None.

Mass land denial registry: None identified in the checked registry. Modal or repeated-land targeting still requires a pregame discussion.

Your extra-turn cards: None identified in the checked registry. Opponent turns from Emrakul or gifts are not counted as your own chain.

Confirmed early two-card lethal or turn-chain flags are not inferred from keywords. This is a lower bound, not a complete combo solver or permission to delay a consistently early line until turn seven. Agreed Rule Zero / Exhibition exceptions are outside this ordinary-restriction check.

Estimated Power Bracket · Mid 3

Estimated from the card list alone, not from tracked win rates or game results.

Convoke selection and scalable Knight production use an existing board more efficiently. This is a change in combat development, not evidence of a new instant two-card win.

Assembly and timing: Convoke needs bodies; Squadron needs an attack. No reliable early combo finish is verified, despite stronger board scaling than Original.

Recovery and constraints: Selection and repeated tokens improve rebuilding, while sweepers or evasion removal still expose the combat plan.

Curve: 3.17 average nonland mana value. Cheap mana/land-search text: Sol Ring · Arcane Signet · Azorius Signet · Talisman of Progress · Mind Stone · Fellwar Stone · Sword of the Animist. This text-derived reading aid is not an official score.

Search-library evidence: Knight of the White Orchid · Sword of the Animist. This includes restricted and land searches; efficient tutor overlap is reviewed separately above. There is no official tutor-count cap.

Fast mana indicators: Sol Ring. Conditional free interaction: None identified in the checked registry. Conditions and resource costs still apply.

Key cards: Knight-Errant of Eos · Silverwing Squadron · Invasion of New Phyrexia · Herald of Hoofbeats.
