STRATEGY · 3 PHASES

How this build plays

Homer scales landfall mill with an unusual sea-creature census. Land-placement tools supply repeated entries, type-changing support broadens the count, and graveyard land recovery restarts the tide.

  1. 01SET THE STAGE

Keep a land ready for the next tide

Walking Atlas puts a land from hand onto the battlefield. Retreat to Coralhelm can use that landfall to untap the Atlas, while Homer separately mills based on your qualifying sea creatures. You still need more lands in hand to continue this sequence.

Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, any number of target players each mill X cards, where X is twice the number of Crabs, Lobsters, Nautiluses, Starfish, and/or Trilobites you control.

    Walking Atlas

{T}: You may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.

    Retreat to Coralhelm

Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, choose one — • You may tap or untap target creature. • Scry 1. (Look at the top card of your library. You may put that card on the bottom.)

  2. 02BUILD THE ENGINE

Make every creature part of the census

Maskwood Nexus gives every creature you control all creature types, making them qualify for Homer’s count. Ruin Crab adds its own three-card mill for each opponent when a land enters. A creature with several of Homer’s listed types still counts as one creature, not several.

    Maskwood Nexus

Creatures you control are every creature type. The same is true for creature spells you control and creature cards you own that aren't on the battlefield. {3}, {T}: Create a 2/2 blue Shapeshifter creature token with changeling. (It is every creature type.)

    Ruin Crab

Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, each opponent mills three cards. (To mill a card, a player puts the top card of their library into their graveyard.)

  3. 03CARRY IT THROUGH

The lands can come back together

Harrow sacrifices a land to find two basics, producing two land entries for Homer. Splendid Reclamation later returns land cards from the graveyard tapped, creating a new set of landfall triggers. Landfall counts entries even though those returned lands are tapped.

    Harrow

As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a land. Search your library for up to two basic land cards, put them onto the battlefield, then shuffle.

    Splendid Reclamation

Return all land cards from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.

Commander Bracket Assessment

Rules-Based Bracket: No raised minimumEstimated Power Bracket: Mid 3–High 3

Based on the 100-card main deck; sideboard excluded. The Rules-Based Bracket is the lowest bracket this card list allows under Commander bracket rules. The Estimated Power Bracket is a personal estimate of how strongly the deck plays. It is not an official rating.

Evidence and limitations

Rules-Based Bracket · minimum

  • No raised minimum found in the checked restrictions. This does not establish Exhibition intent, Core fit or absence of every possible combo.

Exact Game Changers: None.

Mass land denial registry: None identified in the checked registry. Modal or repeated-land targeting still requires a pregame discussion.

Your extra-turn cards: None identified in the checked registry. Opponent turns from Emrakul or gifts are not counted as your own chain.

Confirmed early two-card lethal or turn-chain flags are not inferred from keywords. This is a lower bound, not a complete combo solver or permission to delay a consistently early line until turn seven. Agreed Rule Zero / Exhibition exceptions are outside this ordinary-restriction check.

Estimated Power Bracket · Mid 3–High 3

Estimated from the card list alone, not from tracked win rates or game results.

Land placement, type conversion and recovery build repeated mill events. Ordinary land ramp is plentiful, but it does not universally tutor the nonland pieces.

Assembly and timing: A land placer, untap source, hand/land supply and qualifying creature count are additional requirements. No cheap two-card game-ending pair is inferred from the shared landfall text.

Recovery and constraints: Land recovery can restart mill after spending resources, while graveyard hate and removing the commander or creature census can cut its output.

Curve: 2.71 average nonland mana value. Cheap mana/land-search text: Cryptic Trilobite · Lotus Cobra · Nature's Lore · Three Visits · Arcane Signet · Sol Ring · Squandered Resources. This text-derived reading aid is not an official score.

Search-library evidence: Cultivate · Kodama's Reach · Nature's Lore · Three Visits · Harrow · Roiling Regrowth · Springbloom Druid. This includes restricted and land searches; efficient tutor overlap is reviewed separately above. There is no official tutor-count cap.

Fast mana indicators: Sol Ring. Conditional free interaction: None identified in the checked registry. Conditions and resource costs still apply.

Key cards: Homer, the Hermit · Maskwood Nexus · Retreat to Coralhelm · Splendid Reclamation.
