How this build plays

Build an Elf workforce from landfall, untap it to keep developing, then turn a crowded battlefield into a decisive attack. This list pairs extra land placement with creature-based mana and token payoffs.

  1. 01SET THE STAGE

    Every land hires an Elf

With Thranduil in play, Llanowar Scout puts a land from hand onto the battlefield and makes an Elf. Retreat to Coralhelm can untap the Scout for another land, as long as your hand supplies one. New Elves still need haste or a later turn before tapping for mana.

    Thranduil the Strategist

Other Elves you control have "{T}: Add {G} or {U}." Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, create a 1/1 green Elf creature token.

    Llanowar Scout

{T}: You may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.

    Retreat to Coralhelm

Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, choose one — • You may tap or untap target creature. • Scry 1. (Look at the top card of your library. You may put that card on the bottom.)

  2. 02BUILD THE ENGINE

Give the workforce a second shift

Concordant Crossroads lets fresh Elves tap immediately using the ability Thranduil grants them. Tatyova, Benthic Druid rewards each land entering with a card and life, helping replenish the hand that the land-placement engine spends. Crossroads grants opposing creatures haste too.

    Concordant Crossroads

    All creatures have haste.

Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, you gain 1 life and draw a card.

  3. 03CARRY IT THROUGH

The small bodies become the threat

Avenger of Zendikar makes Plants and grows them with further landfall. Triumph of the Hordes gives your whole army trample and infect for the turn; its effectiveness still depends on available attackers, blockers and interaction. It is a combat finish, not an automatic win.

    Avenger of Zendikar

When this creature enters, create a 0/1 green Plant creature token for each land you control. Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, you may put a +1/+1 counter on each Plant creature you control.

    Triumph of the Hordes

Until end of turn, creatures you control get +1/+1 and gain trample and infect. (Creatures with infect deal damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters.)

Commander Bracket Assessment

Rules-Based Bracket: 3 minimumEstimated Power Bracket: High 3–Low 4

Based on the 100-card main deck; sideboard excluded. The Rules-Based Bracket is the lowest bracket this card list allows under Commander bracket rules. The Estimated Power Bracket is a personal estimate of how strongly the deck plays. It is not an official rating.

Evidence and limitations

Rules-Based Bracket · minimum

  • 3 Game Changers: excluded from ordinary Brackets 1 and 2.

Exact Game Changers: 1× Rhystic Study · 1× Narset, Parter of Veils · 1× The One Ring.

Mass land denial registry: None identified in the checked registry. Modal or repeated-land targeting still requires a pregame discussion.

Your extra-turn cards: None identified in the checked registry. Opponent turns from Emrakul or gifts are not counted as your own chain.

Confirmed early two-card lethal or turn-chain flags are not inferred from keywords. This is a lower bound, not a complete combo solver or permission to delay a consistently early line until turn seven. Agreed Rule Zero / Exhibition exceptions are outside this ordinary-restriction check.

Estimated Power Bracket · High 3–Low 4

Estimated from the card list alone, not from tracked win rates or game results.

Extra land entries make mana Elves; Retreat untaps a land placer. Narset makes the symmetrical draw package less friendly. Muddle has a narrow transmute range rather than unrestricted access to every engine piece.

Assembly and timing: The five-mana commander, land supply and untap pieces must line up. No consistent early two-card game-ending line is established; creature development can still accelerate the setup.

Recovery and constraints: Eternal Witness and Ramunap Excavator recover resources; sweepers or commander removal can interrupt the board-dependent mana plan.

Curve: 3.04 average nonland mana value. Cheap mana/land-search text: Fyndhorn Elves · Three Visits · Llanowar Elves · Birds of Paradise · Sol Ring · An Offer You Can't Refuse · Elvish Mystic · Nature's Lore. This text-derived reading aid is not an official score.

Search-library evidence: Three Visits · Wood Elves · Carnivorous Cultivator // Enroot · Finale of Devastation · Muddle the Mixture · Prismatic Vista · Fabled Passage · Nature's Lore · Harrow. This includes restricted and land searches; efficient tutor overlap is reviewed separately above. There is no official tutor-count cap.

Fast mana indicators: Sol Ring. Conditional free interaction: None identified in the checked registry. Conditions and resource costs still apply.

Key cards: Llanowar Scout · Retreat to Coralhelm · Narset, Parter of Veils · Muddle the Mixture.
